To anyone who's lived in res/dorms...

Is there anything that you didn't take with you/think to pack/whatever, that you realized after a while you should have?

I'm working on my list of what to pack/get together, and I don't wanna forget anything so...yeah.

Duct tape. You always need duct tape for something.

One of those things to put all your bathroom junk in. Even though you don't have a public bathroom, I'd still suggest it.

Plastic containers for stuff.

Totally agree with above about microwaveable food and not taking all your books. I brought some bookshelves which I put my plastic containers, TV, and schoolbooks on. I didn't even read most of the books that I brought.

An umbrella.

Post-it notes.

A desk lamp for when/if your roomie wants to sleep and you're don't.

A fish. Seriously, it made me so happy to just sit and watch that thing on Saturday mornings.

Whatever you use for anti-stress. My college experience was so stressful.

Something with a buncha caffeine. What I used was Ice Java, which can be put into milk.
Hot chocolate and/or Apple cider.

A buncha blankets. Seriously, I had more than anyone else but it gets SO Cold with the cement walls that it'll freeze you out. (but of course be totally unhelpful when it's hot.)

Um. I think that's enough.

Separate bedrooms, awesome.

Oh and yeah, don't forget posters for the walls. College is high stress prision with alcohol.

Oh, and curtains, if you like things dark.

Seriously, if it wasn't separate? I probably wouldn't live in res. I like my privacy too much.
